The Genoa Boat Show is worth 72 million in economic benefits and becomes a documentary film

“If while sailing, at the first light of day, you will see the sea…” so says the opening narrative voice of the film which tells the story of the Genoa Boat Show, immersed in the setting of the city, which acts as a backdrop. It is a 9-minute docu-film, “Sea More”, born from the collaboration between Confindustria Nautica and BsideFilms and which participates in the Film Impresa Award organized by Unindustria in collaboration with Confindustria and Anica, which will assign the awards selected by a jury of the honor presided over this year by the director and screenwriter Gabriele Salvatores.

The film will be an integral part of the internationalization and promotion activities of the 64th Genoa International Boat Show and of support for the Italian companies that are ambassadors of Made in Italy in the sector at a global level. A journey that began with participation in the Düsseldorf Boot and will now continue at the Miami International Boat Show, Dubai International Boat Show, SMM Hamburg, Ibex Show Tampa – Florida, Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, Metstrade Amsterdam. In addition to the docufilm, the highlights of the Show will be part of a new digital communication campaign by Confindustria nautica.

The Show and Genoa

The Show has been held in Genoa for over sixty years. Not by chance. “The link between Nautical and Genoa has always been very close: the event is a driving force and identity symbol of the city, an event that brings a lot of value to the area – says Saverio Cecchi, president of Confindustria Nautica -. It is an extremely complex and multifaceted event. For over 60 years it has brought the best of the world industry to Genoa, as well as being the home of the national nautical industry. The Show represents the transformation of Genoa into the nautical capital”.

The value of the Salone is tangible. The 63rd edition – says Confindustria nautica – generated a value of over 50 million euros in the area considering the impact of visitors alone (value certified by Nielsen survey) and an overall economic impact of 72 million euros. The latter data is obtained by adding the economic impact brought by visitors to which is added the economic value generated by the organizers and exhibitors for the creation and participation in the event.
