The Russian government does not plan to ban the export of kerosene in the near future, reported TASS citing two industry sources. Previously Interfax wrote that Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak ordered to study the possibility of a ban.

TASS sources confirmed that the prospect of a ban on kerosene exports was discussed at a meeting with Mr. Novak. However, according to the agency, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry of Energy do not consider the ban necessary at the moment.

As Interfax sources reported, Alexander Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Customs Service and oil companies to evaluate the effectiveness of the ban on kerosene exports in order to provide the Russian market with winter diesel fuel.

On September 21, the government is provisional limited export of diesel fuel and gasoline. The decision was made against the backdrop of rising prices and shutdowns for planned repairs of several refineries. October 6 government reported on the approval of new measures, including the restoration of the fuel damper and the lifting of export restrictions. Alexander Novak said that the measures taken helped “saturate the domestic market.”
