CEO of Aeroflot (MOEX: AFLT) Sergei Aleksandrovsky said that the number of re-registered Boeing and Airbus aircraft in the carrier’s fleet by the end of 2023 will be 98. He said this at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“At the end of the year, the total number of Aeroflot group will be 98 aircraft, which have been transferred to the ownership of a Russian legal entity. This, of course, contributed to the increase in international passenger traffic,” said Mr. Aleksandrovsky (quoted from website Kremlin).

He added that Aeroflot increased passenger traffic by 15% in 2023, to 47 million people. In 2022, 40.7 million passengers used the airline’s services.

At the meeting, Vladimir Putin agreed with the proposal to extend the program for selling tickets at “flat” fares until 2024. The President also called for “maintaining the quality” of services – passenger reviews of Aeroflot’s services, according to him, are good.

Earlier, S7 Airlines completed the re-registration of 45 foreign aircraft, and Ural Airlines completed 19. According to Kommersant sources, on November 16, the State Transport Leasing Company abandoned previously announced plans to increase the leasing rate for 37 GTLK Europe aircraft by 30%. Most of these airliners are used by Aeroflot, Rossiya, S7, Aurora and Yamal.
