The Ministry of Energy ruled out the introduction of a ban on the export of gasoline

The Ministry of Energy excludes the introduction of a ban on the export of gasoline. Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov announced this at the Eurasian Economic Forum.

“We do not mention the word ban, we are talking about restriction. The Department of Energy makes recommendations to companies on increasing supply and on restrictions. To reduce, but not to ban, ”Shulginov said (quote from “Kommersant”).

The Ministry of Energy will monitor the situation on the market and, if necessary, will come up with a proposal that will be aimed at limiting the export of gasoline. In addition, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Finance are exploring the possibility of limiting the export of fuel abroad, for the production of which damping payments from the budget were used.

According to Shulginov, retail gasoline prices are stable. At the same time, on May 17, 2023, the exchange price of AI-95 gasoline beat historical record and reached 61,409 rubles. per ton.

The stock quotes of gasoline in the Russian Federation are growing against the backdrop of sanctions by unfriendly countries aimed at abandoning Russian energy sources. Earlier, the Ministry of Energy recommended that oil companies increase the supply of motor gasoline on the stock exchange. At the same time, as noted in the department, the change in exchange prices “will not significantly affect the cost of gasoline in retail.”
