Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Ekaterina Priezzheva during conference “Kommersant” spoke about plans to create a second list of medicines for the competition for subsidies under the “Products on the Shelf” program. The project is aimed at creating analogues of patented drugs, the copyright holders of which are companies from other countries.

Competitive selections for the first list, consisting of 25 international non-proprietary names, began at the end of December 2023. According to Mrs. Priezzheva, 30 competitions have already been played. The amount of the subsidy under the program is: reported Ministry of Industry and Trade, will amount to 50-100 million rubles.

The essence of “products on the shelf” is that the Russian manufacturer receives a subsidy for the development and registration of an analogue of drugs for which foreign manufacturers have a patent. “Further commercialization of the drug and its introduction to the market begins when the patent expires, or if someone (the company— “Ъ”) unfriendly states are taking the drug off the market; we already have it ready. In this way, we minimize the possibility of defects in these drugs,” she recalled.
