The portfolio of the investment commission of the Russian Federation and China includes projects worth more than $165 billion

The portfolio of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission on Investment Cooperation includes 79 projects worth more than $165 billion, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. transmits cabinet press office.

“We give priority to investment cooperation. The portfolio of the Intergovernmental Investment Commission includes 79 projects totaling over $165 billion,” Mishustin said.

At a meeting with Xi, the Russian prime minister noted the strategic nature of the energy partnership, covering all industry areas – natural gas, oil, oil products, coal, peaceful nuclear energy, and electricity. Mishustin also noted the successful implementation of joint energy projects – Yamal LNG, Arctic LNG 2, the Amur Gas Chemical Plant and the gas processing complex in Ust-Luga.

“I would like to highlight cooperation in high-tech areas. We are talking about aircraft manufacturing, mechanical engineering, machine tool building, space research, as well as end-to-end technologies that are aimed at creating innovative products and providing services,” Mishustin continued at a meeting with Xi.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the expansion of innovative cooperation will strengthen the technological sovereignty of Russia and China.

Xi Jinping arrived to Russia the day before, on March 20, at the same time he had an informal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Peskov, she continued 4.5 hours. During an informal meeting, the leaders of the two countries exchanged opinions about the situation in Ukraine and in the world. Xi Jinping will visit Moscow until March 22.

On Tuesday, March 21, the President of China came to the Government House of the Russian Federation to meet with Mishustin. Xi invited Vladimir Putin and Mikhail Mishustin to visit China this year. During the meeting, the Chinese President said that he had chosen Russia for his first international visit after being re-elected, guided by historical logic. The Chinese leader said he was happy to visit “friendly Russia” and pleased to meet Mishustin, noting that the pandemic had made visits impossible in recent years.

In turn, Mishustin emphasized Russia’s interest in further strengthening the “comprehensive” partnership and strategic interaction with China. According to the prime minister, bilateral relations are at the highest level in the entire centuries-old history and influence the formation of the global agenda in the “logic of multipolarity.”

Mishustin also noted the successful development of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China. “It is important that, despite the unfavorable external situation, turbulence in global markets, increasing sanctions from the collective West, trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China is developing successfully,” he said. Mishustin expressed confidence that in 2023 Russia and China would bring trade to $200 billion. The Prime Minister recalled that last year the trade turnover approached $190 billion.
