The St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (SPIMEX) has developed a development strategy for a period of five years. According to the strategy, the exchange will become the administrator of a wide range of national indicators – from gasoline and diesel to building materials and rapeseed oil. He spoke about this in an interview RBC President of the trading platform Igor Artemyev.

The strategy must be approved by the end of May. The strategy is based on expanding the list of traded goods, as well as attracting spot platforms from friendly countries (primarily the EAEU) to cooperation. Based on these data, the exchange has already developed an information terminal. It is planned to launch in the first half of 2024.

“Now we want to develop a variety of markets: coal, metals, mineral fertilizers, building materials, agricultural products. Our country has achieved a lot in agriculture. Why don’t we sell frozen meat, fish, rapeseed or sunflower oils, and sugar?” – said Igor Artemyev.

By the end of 2023, SPIMEX promised to present its position on a possible IPO to shareholders. Today the exchange announcedthat the issue of holding an IPO is irrelevant. The stock exchange is discussing the issue of rebranding.
