The Austrian concern Wienerberger, the largest brick manufacturer in the world, has sold two brick production plants in the Vladimir region and Tatarstan. The new owner of Wienerberger Kurkachi and Wienerberger Brick is the Stroymix company, owned by businessman Alexey Filin. I drew attention to the changes in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities database RBC.

The head office of Wienerberger confirmed the fact of the transaction to RBC. Due to the geopolitical situation, the company decided to leave the Russian market back in 2022. After the sale of the enterprises, the company’s departure from Russia was completed. Wienerberger noted that structuring the deal turned out to be very difficult due to constantly changing legislation. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The total design capacity of both Russian Wienerberger enterprises is 450 million conventional bricks per year. In 2023, the revenue of the enterprise in the Vladimir region amounted to 1.5 billion rubles, net profit – 83 million rubles. The revenue of the plant in Tatarstan for the past year amounted to 906 million rubles, and the net profit was 114.9 million rubles. The total design capacity of the two Wienerberger plants per year is comparable to the average monthly production of ceramic bricks throughout Russia. In total, the Wienerberger concern has about 200 production facilities in 28 countries.
