Umbria, a week of art and antiques with the 49th edition of Amab

L’Umbria in spring it becomes an international attraction with the 49th edition of Amab – Assisi Antique Art Exhibition Bastia Umbra which will take place from 20 to 28 Aprilsimultaneously with Umbria Fairs Of Bastia Umbra it’s at Palazzo Monte Frumentario in the historic center of Assisireturning, after many years, within the walls of the seraphic city, where the event was born in 1973.

Two nearby places that will allow visitors to enjoy the beauty of two cities of art: inside the pavilions of Umbria Fiere, the public will be able to admire ancient, modern and contemporary works of art, including singular erotic sculptures, objects, furnishing accessories, but also graphics and design, thanks to the presence of important Italian and foreign gallery owners. They will be exhibited at Palazzo Monte Frumentario in Assisi iconic masterpieces of ancient art and a selection of modern and contemporary works and you will be able to attend interesting events performances by artists, who will paint live.

The event was announced during a meeting at the headquarters of Umbria region from Andrea Tattinipresident of Amab who, with the organizers Emo and Leonardo Antinori Petriniintroduced the interventions of Donatella Teseipresident of the Umbria Region, Stefania Proietti, mayor of Assisi and president of the Province of Perugia, Paola Lungarottimayor of Bastia Umbra e Stefano Ansideri, president of Umbria Fiere.

There are many free in-depth moments that the Amab public can participate in every day. The volume will be presented on Monday 22 April “The Renaissance in Bastia Umbra. Works of art between the 15th and 17th centuries”edited by Alessandro Delpriori, in the presence of the author himself and other experts. An editorial project concerning the artistic testimonies present in the Municipality of Bastia, the result of unpublished studies and research, which will highlight the historical-artistic heritage of the territory of the Municipality of Bastia also through technical and diagnostic investigations on individual works to understand their origin, history and conservation events.

Tuesday 23 April afternoon, an appointment dedicated to professionals in the sector. In collaboration with Fima – Italian Federation of Art Dealers will, in fact, be held presentation of the Federation’s Central Italian delegation to be formedwhich will include gallery owners, artists and art dealers from Umbria, Marche, Tuscany, Lazio And Abruzzo.

The calendar of collateral events continues on Wednesday 24 April with “The enigma of the Master of San Francesco. The Stilnovo of thirteenth-century Umbria”. The story of an exhibition, a meeting born from the renewed collaboration between Amab and the National Gallery of Umbria which will see the participation of the art historian Veruska Picchiarellicurator together with Andrea De Marchi and Emanuele Zappasodi of the exhibition set up in the Perugian museum until June 9th. Participants in the event will then have the opportunity to attend a guided tour of the exhibition led by the curator, to get to know the work and figure of the Master of San Francescoone of the greatest artists of the thirteenth century, active after Giunta Pisano and before Cimabue.

Finally, on Friday 26 April, Umbria Fiere will host the conference “Call to the Arts – Art bonus” organized by the Municipality of Bastia Umbra. The claim with which the Art Bonus is promoted is like a battle cry that awakens consciences and draws attention to how a gesture of civility, rewarded by a substantial tax advantage, can contribute, through liberal donations, to supporting the heritage Italian public cultural centre, spread across cities, villages and small towns.

At Umbria Fiere there will also be a special area dedicated to food and wine excellencesthanks to the presence of leading companies such as Monini Oil, Terre del Sole, Cantina Cesarini Sartori, Cantina Dionigi And Varnelli distillery. The latter company will also design an unusual cocktail bar, for a business meeting or a moment of relaxation, enlivened by live piano performances.

For the entire duration of the exhibition they will be exhibited at Umbria Fiere four vintage motorbikes belonging to international championsHonda’s Fred Merkel and of John Kocinskithe Yamahas of Rodney GouldOf Jarno Saarinen and of Giacomo Agostini and some examples of emblazoned Ducatis.

The two locations of the exhibition can be visited comfortably thanks to a single ticket, which can also be purchased online on sitewhich can also be used on different days, and a shuttle service from Umbria Fiere to Assisi and vice versa.

Amab 2024 this year too it received the patronage of the Region of Umbria, the Province of Perugia, the Municipality of Assisi and the Municipality of Bastia Umbra, of RAI Umbria, of the Umbria Chamber of Commerce, of Confcommercio Umbria and of Fima – Federation Italian Art Dealers.
