Turkey is implementing different projects that will diversify its alternatives in tourism. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu pointed out the high demand for touristic train services and said, “We are offering two brand new routes to our traveling citizens. Ankara-Diyarbakır-Ankara Touristic Train between Ankara and Diyarbakır, and Ankara-Tatvan-Ankara Touristic Train between Ankara and Tatvan.” “It will start operating,” he said.
Emphasizing that the train offers important opportunities for tourism, Uraloğlu reminded that the Touristic Eastern Express was launched for tourism purposes as an alternative to the Eastern Express on the Ankara-Kars route. Giving information about the season’s services, Uraloğlu said, “The Touristic Eastern Express made a total of 84 trains, 42 in the Ankara-Kars direction and 42 in the Kars-Ankara direction. As of the end of the period, 11 thousand 611 passengers traveled in these trips.” Stating that they have another good news for travelers who will set out to explore Anatolia by train, Minister Uraloğlu also announced that ticket sales for the said trains started this week.
Stating that the opportunity to see natural, historical and cultural values will be offered at the stops on the route where the trains pass, Uraloğlu said: “Ankara-Diyarbakır-Ankara Touristic Train will depart from the capital on Friday, April 19 at 15.55, and from Diyarbakır on Sunday, April 21 at 12.00.” “On the Ankara-Diyarbakır journey, the train will stop in Malatya for 3 hours, on the Diyarbakır-Ankara journey, it will stop in Yolçatı for 4 hours and in Kayseri for 3 hours for tourism purposes. Our trains will provide mutual service on certain days until June and will stop in certain centers.”
