Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, who met with investors in France, said that he would go to the Gulf countries again for investor meetings.
Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek shared a post about his contacts with France after the France-Germany Forum he attended yesterday. Şimşek stated in his post that he will go to the Gulf countries again for investor meetings.
In his post on his social media account, Şimşek said, “Our meetings with investors will continue with our visits to the Gulf countries at the beginning of the week. “The purpose of our visits is to explain our country’s new program and attract permanent investment that will provide employment and high added value.”
Referring to his contacts in France, Şimşek said:
“We packed a lot into our one-day visit to France yesterday. In this context, first of all in the morning, we came together with the members of MEDEF, France’s largest business people association, hosted by BNP Paribas’ Chairman of the Board of Directors, Jean LEMIERRE.
Later hosted by Societe Generale, approximately 4 trillion Euro We explained the Turkish economy and our program to the managing French-based investment funds and bank senior managers.
We also had a meeting with my friend Mr. Fatih Birol, President of the International Energy Agency, regarding the outlook of the global energy market.
We held consultations with the French Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Bruno Le MAIRE, on how to increase our bilateral trade and mutual investments.
Finally, last night at the France-Germany Forum, we explained the investment opportunities in Turkey to the CEO/CFOs of around 70 companies.”
ŞİMŞEK’S ATTENTION-CATCHING GULF WORKSHOP
It is noteworthy that Şimşek, who took office as the Minister of Treasury and Finance on June 5, 2023, frequently knocks on the doors of Arab countries in the Gulf for external resources.
Şimşek, who went to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as part of a “working visit” with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz on June 22, met with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan there.
Şimşek, who went to Qatar with Yılmaz again on July 9, met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamed Al Thani.
Şimşek, who went to Saudi Arabia with Central Bank (CBRT) Governor Gaye Erkan on July 12, met with Saudi Arabian Minister of Finance Muhammed al-Cedan.
Şimşek also participated in President Erdoğan’s three-day Gulf tour, which included Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, between 17 and 19 July.
