190 parcels of agricultural land around the Akbelen Forest in Muğla Milas was expropriated by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs to be used as a lignite mine area.
According to the urgent expropriation decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; A total of 190 parcels of agricultural land in İkizköy, Çamköy and Karacahisar around Akbelen Forest were expropriated by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs to be used as a lignite mine area.
AKP Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor candidate Aydın Ayaydın made a statement regarding the decision to expropriate 190 parcels of agricultural land around Akbelen Forest: “Feeling responsible for the expropriation, I took the initiative before our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and requested the review of the decision.”
In his written statement, Ayaydın said, “Yes, we need energy, and I find the sensitivity to provide this with domestic resources instead of imported ones extremely reasonable. However, I would like to point out that agriculture and sustainable tourism that respects nature are also very valuable for Muğla.”
