Americanas’ judicial administrator raises the company’s total debt to R$ 47.9 billion

The law firm Zveiter, which is the American court administratorinformed the 4th Business Court of the Rio Court of Justice that in a first analysis of the consolidated list of creditors, with the initial purpose of sending letters to creditors, it verified that the sum of listed values ​​reaches BRL 47.9 billion.

In other words, the value is R$ 6.6 billion more than that reported by the company previously, of R$ 41.2 billion.

In the document sent, the administrator said that “it used as a parameter the list of creditors presented by the Debtors (Grupo Americanas) in court, which can be changed as long as it is formally communicated in the records”.

When questioned, Americanas said that the difference refers to the total value of the debentures in which Americanas owes the group companies, JSM and B2W.

“The debentures were issued within the group only to create a channel for transferring resources from Americanas S/A to foreign companies under reorganization, aiming at the payment of the Bonds (the debentures “mirror” the bonds),” he explained.

The retailer said that this value must be expurgated, under penalty of duplicity. “There is only one debt, arising from the issuance of bonds, and an intragroup channel for remitting resources to pay that debt”, she explained.

Law firm Zveiter also said it noticed duplicate names and creditors with zero values.
