MILAN – The CISL fails the CGIL referendum initiative which aims at the abolition of Jobs Act. “The Jobs Act was a great reform, not without gaps, but also with absolutely positive aspects”, said the general secretary of the CISL, Luigi Sbarra, on the sidelines of the National Assembly of the union, regarding the CGIL referendum proposal on restoration of article 18. “He helped to broaden and extend social safety nets, he contrasted the practice of blank resignations, he lengthened the Naspi period, he invested in active labor policies, he eliminated project contracts, he fought false self-employment, internships” for which “to lump everything together is wrong, raising the anachronistic flag of article 18 is wrong”, added Sbarra. “We respect the initiatives of the other trade unions even if on the merits we feel like saying that we do not agree”, the CISL leader said again.
