It is worth remembering that in February the signing of Fernando Campos as the new CEO was announced, after in March 2023, and after 25 years at the head of the insurance company, Josep Santacreu left the position of CEO. Since then and until the beginning of the year, the company has been directed by an executive committee made up of the general financial director and president of the executive committee, Javier Cubría, the general director of health, Francisco Juan, and the director of transformation, Julián Nuño.

In February 2023, DKV celebrated the 25th anniversary of its presence in Spain. In this time, it has reached two million customers, quadrupling the 416,000 it had in 1998. Likewise, the accumulated profit over these years has been 550 million euros.

Throughout these years, six strategic plans have been executed in which DKV has experienced completely sustainable and progressive growth in Spain, going from 128 million euros in premiums in 1998 to 876 million in 2022.

On the other hand, it is worth remembering that in June, DKV and ING announced a long-term agreement for the marketing of health insurance in Spain. With the signing, ING reinforced its insurance distribution strategy and expanded the offer for its clients.

The insurance will have differential attributes for ING clients, following the premise of the rest of the entity’s products of simplicity, transparency and fine print, and will begin to be marketed during the first half of 2024.

Regarding this bancassurance agreement, Cubría has stated that his company is “very excited” about this collaboration, where it sees “a lot of potential” and has highlighted that this business in Spain has acquired “a lot of importance” in recent years.

“We have had several agreements, but none of them have ended up coming together,” said Cubría. However, he maintains that the agreement with ING means having “hit the key” and thus obtaining the level of market share in bancassurance that DKV had not achieved until now.
