Grain export services have appeared in the Prozorro electronic public procurement system.
In particular, such services were put up for auction by the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company, informs the press service of the company.
According to the report, most of the UDP fleet works under long-term contracts, but it is also partially present on the spot market.
“At the moment, there is turbulence on the spot. Conditions and prices differ among different shipowners. UDP adheres to the principles of openness and transparency, therefore, under certain conditions, it uses Prozorro as a tool for determining the objective market rate of freight. In a volatile market, this is an indicator for forming prices,” – noted in the company
It is explained that each lot is a barge that is delivered to the port of Constanta (Romania) as part of a caravan. In addition, the lots are formed in such a way as to increase the level of competition and provide access to freight to as many farmers as possible.
The not-yet-contracted freight for October is up for auction.
Auctions are scheduled for August 18.
