IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings have started – Last Minute Economic News

The meetings, held at a time when concerns about inflation and geopolitical tensions are rising again, will continue until April 20 in Washington, the capital of the United States.

Ministerial level meetings and main events will be held on 17-19 April.

At the meetings, where finance ministers of many countries, central bank officials, private sector and non-governmental organization representatives and academicians come together, issues such as the global economic outlook, poverty eradication and economic development will be discussed.

Within the scope of the meetings, important reports such as the World Economic Outlook Report, the Global Financial Stability Report and the Financial Monitoring Report, which include evaluations of the global economic outlook, will be announced.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS ALSO ON THE AGENDA

At the same time, regional briefings and forums on international development, debt issues, economic recovery, climate and artificial intelligence will be held.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek will attend the meetings on behalf of Turkey. Şimşek will be accompanied by Fatih Karahan, President of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT).

Şimşek and Karahan will hold contacts here and will also attend some events as speakers.
