Istanbul’s December inflation has been announced

December inflation figures were announced in Istanbul.
The Istanbul Wage Earners Living Index, which is an indicator of retail price movements of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), increased by 3.52 percent in December compared to the previous month, and the Wholesale Prices index, which reflects wholesale price movements, increased by 2.31 percent.
In 2023, retail prices increased by 74.88 percent and wholesale prices increased by 62.77 percent.
According to ITO in November, annual inflation was 73.89 percent and monthly inflation was 3.79 percent.
THE MOST INCREASE IN DECEMBER IS IN HEALTH
In December, compared to the previous month, retail prices increased by 5.15 percent in health and personal care expenditures, 5.10 percent in culture, education and entertainment expenditures, 4.90 percent in food, 2.46 percent in housing, 1.05 percent in transportation and communication, and 1.05 percent in household goods. There was an increase of 0.94 percent, 0.31 percent in the Other Expenditures group and 0.19 percent in the clothing group.
Compared to the previous month, wholesale prices increased by 5.79 percent in the chemicals group, 3.14 percent in foodstuffs, 1.86 percent in the minerals group, 0.36 percent in the construction materials group, and 0.35 percent in the fuel and energy products group. While there was a 0.81 percent decrease in the raw materials group, no change was observed in the textile group.
