Job doors will be opened for 60 thousand people: Two new OIZs are coming to that city

Batman OIZ Directorate has started work to build 2 new OIZs in order to develop trade in the city, create new employment areas, and increase the economic added value by turning raw materials into final products.

Infrastructure works of two OIZs, which were included in the 2024 investment program by the Ministry of Industry and Technology with the support of 2 billion 611 million 120 thousand lira investment project by the Presidency’s Strategy and Budget Directorate, will begin this year.

It is aimed to create new employment areas for 60 thousand people with the completion of two OIZs, the infrastructure tender of which will be held this year and which is expected to be completed within 2 years.

OIZs were included in the investment program in a short time

Governor Ekrem Canalp told the AA correspondent that when he started working in Batman two years ago, citizens intensely asked him for jobs and social assistance.

Stating that they decided to build 5 new industrial areas in the city in order to solve the unemployment problem and reduce social aid demands by creating job areas, Canalp said, “If we solve the job problem, we will have already solved the social aid demands. Based on this, for 5 new industrial areas in Batman, 3 of them will be built.” “We started initiatives including 1 OIZ and 2 small industrial sites.” said.

Canalp noted that OIZs in Turkey can only be implemented in processes that usually take up to 8-12 years, and emphasized that all administrative procedures of the OIZs they plan to establish in Batman were completed in a short period of 14 months and that they are currently included in the investment program of 2024.

Stating that efforts to increase employment areas are continuing, Canalp said, “Apart from OIZs and small industrial sites, it is also aimed to establish 2 logistics cities and 2 greenhouse cities. Thanks to these, with a total employment capacity of 100 thousand, hopefully social aid will reduce unemployment in Batman.” “We will also finish their demands.” he said.

Stating that the occupancy rate in the current Batman OIZ has reached 100 percent and that 500 investors have applied for space, Canalp stated that there is a high demand from companies that will invest since the Eastern and Southeastern regions are the regions where state incentives are given most intensively.

Today, we are talking about prosperity, investments, OIZs, employment and projects in Batman.
