Media and entertainment industry’s new hiring intentions fell by 3%

Mumbai: In the first half of the current year, there has been a three percent decline in the intention to recruit youth who have completed their studies in the media and entertainment industry. This estimate has been expressed in a report. The Career Outlook Report for January-June 2024 released by TeamLease EdTech says that the media and entertainment industry is showing a trend unlike other industries in terms of recruiting youth who have completed their studies.
If we look at the recruitment intentions of the entire industry, it has seen an increase of six percent on an annual basis. This report is based on a survey conducted among 526 small, medium and large companies belonging to 18 different industries in the country. Accordingly, recruitment trends in the media and entertainment sector also revealed different preferences for job roles across cities.
Delhi dominated in video editing with 27 percent share while Bangalore led in production assistants with 23 percent. The report says that for Unity developers, Mumbai and Delhi lead with 25 per cent and 21 per cent share respectively while Chennai remained the favorite for SEO activities with 21 per cent. Whereas Mumbai employed 19 percent graphic designers.
