Minister Bolat announced the Angel Investor Network Platform for young entrepreneurs

Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat participated in the program titled ‘Young Exporters Meets’ as part of the Young Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (GENÇ MUSIAD) Golden Container Export Awards, held in Istanbul Bakırköy. Speaking at the program, Minister Bolat said, “An angel investor network platform in one of our important new projects, this is a digital platform. It is a platform that aims to bring together Angel Investors and entrepreneurs with new ideas.”

Participated in the meeting titled ‘Young Exporters Meet with Awards’ as part of the ‘Golden Container Export Awards’ organized by the Young Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association. Addressing the exporters attending the ceremony, Bolat said, “Turkey’s monthly exports have exceeded 1 billion dollars. On that day, there was a festive joy in the country. Because monthly exports exceeded 1 billion dollars. Now our almost daily exports exceed one billion dollars on most days. So we came from monthly to daily, thank goodness. Our 2002 exports could only reach 36 billion dollars. Our service exports reached 14 and a half billion dollars. And the number of exporter families was 12 thousand people. The ratio of exports to national income in Turkey has approached 30 percent. Because our national income was 906 billion dollars. What does this show? This shows that Turkey has an open economy. When we add the imports to this, there is a foreign trade of 620 billion dollars a year, friends. When we add the transit trade, 700 billion dollars of goods enter and leave our customs in total,” he said.

“The cost of the earthquake is 45 percent of the initial budget of the Republic of Turkey in 2023”

Minister Bolat said, “Like every family, every company, every institution, every country, our country has its problems. Everything is not always rosy. Here, in our recent history, we have encountered a major epidemic disaster that happened once in 100 years in the last 4 years. 20 million people died in the world. Turkey managed to survive this epidemic with the least damage by losing 100,000 lives and successfully managing its economy. It’s over, this time, the inflation monster has emerged due to excessive demand and disruption of supply chains and logistics. Then a mini world war broke out between Russia and Ukraine. Both are our neighbors right next to us. Food prices and energy prices increased 4-5 times. When we said that we survived all these, we encountered the most destructive earthquake disaster that Anatolian geography has faced in 800 years. It shook 11 provinces. And it affected one half of Türkiye’s land and 13.5 million citizens. We were in Maraş, Kahramanmaraş and Hatay 5 days ago, we conducted inspections and inspections for 15-16 hours each. We had meetings. Fire burns where it fell, friends. Seeing the situation there, I would like to emphasize once again the importance of the spirit of solidarity that we have been displaying as a state and nation for the last 6 months, and the continuation of the solidarity activities, when we see the problems that our citizens there naturally face. There is a cost of 104 billion dollars, as this earthquake, friends, this 104 billion dollars means the following; It means 45 percent of the initial budget of the Republic of Türkiye in 2023. We can only eliminate this destruction by spending 45 percent of the budget of the Republic of Turkey there. Those cities will continue to be more beautiful, more lively and livable than before,” he said.

Angel Investor Network Platform for young entrepreneurs

Minister Bolat said, “Besides, we are preparing new projects on entrepreneurship and export for our young people who are studying in the 3rd and 4th grades by cooperating with universities. Let me announce that too. Angel investor network platform in one of our important new projects, this is a digital platform. A platform that aims to bring together Angel Investors and entrepreneurs with new ideas. Infrastructure is completed. Hopefully, we will be promoting this platform soon. I hope this will be a motivating and supportive work activity for young entrepreneurs and young exporters,” he said.

“We are in preparation for Türkiye E-export platform”

Minister Polat said, “As the ministry on e-export, we are in preparation for Turkey’s e-export platform. We will hopefully present it to all our exporters, having completed the software and design in the near future. There will be very important activities such as exhibiting and promoting our country’s products and brands in online marketplaces, receiving orders for foreign markets, and deliveries.
