Minister Uraloğlu announced by saying ‘Annual target was exceeded’: Record increase in the number of cruise ships and passengers

Uraloğlu reported that the number of cruise ships calling at the ports in November increased by 39.7 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 95.

Uraloğlu informed that the number of cruise passengers arriving at the ports in November was 124 thousand 563, an increase of 59.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and said:

“The number of cruise ships calling at our ports in the January-November 2023 period increased by 19.4 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 1167, and the number of cruise passengers arriving at our ports increased by 51.6 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 1 million 517 thousand 933.”

Uraloğlu pointed out that the 2023 target of 1.5 million cruise passengers was exceeded as of November and stated that they expect to reach the targeted number of 1200 cruise ships by the end of the year.

“We are making the investment it deserves in every corner of our heavenly homeland. We are proud to see that we are getting the results of our investments. In the 11-month period, 523 cruise ships and 774 thousand 884 cruise passengers came to Kuşadası Port. 219 cruise ships and 392 thousand 382 cruise passengers preferred Istanbul ports. 97 cruise ships and 101 thousand 159 cruise passengers visited Bodrum Port. 76 cruise ships and 52 thousand 30 cruise passengers preferred Çeşme Port. 40 cruise ships and 19 thousand 672 cruise passengers visited Çanakkale Port. Other ports are “During the said period, a total of 212 cruise ships hosted 177 thousand 806 cruise passengers.”
