New trade gateway hydrogen energy

‘Turkey’s Role in the Hydrogen Economy’ was discussed in the 13th of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Green Agenda Talks. Vehbi Canpolat, Member of the Board of Directors of ISO, hosted the event organized in cooperation with the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mining Research Agency (TENMAK), affiliated with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Canpolat stated that hydrogen has a key role in helping the world reach ‘net zero’ emissions by 2050.

Canpolat said, “According to the projections, the hydrogen market, which is 1.4 billion dollars today, will increase to 12 billion dollars by 2030. If the net zero target is achieved, it will reach $112 billion. “In addition, hydrogen energy will mean new trade doors for exports to countries that have demand potential for countries rich in renewable energy resources,” he said.

President of the Hydrogen Technologies Association, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dinçer also drew attention to the following issues in his presentation: “In the process until today, we have seen renewable energy, nuclear and fossil resources in the energy equation. Fossil sources are now falling out of the equation. So, who comes into the equation? Hydrogen is coming. So, what will hydrogen’s path be like here? “Experiencing these historical processes actually poses both a problem and a great opportunity for humanity.” TENMAK Vice President Prof. Dr. Uğur Çevik said that their most important duty is to decarbonize the country’s economy and ensure the transition to sustainable clean energy.
