The fourteenth pension will be paid ex officio, which means that you do not need to submit an application to receive it; the benefit will be transferred in the same way as the pension received, the president of ZUS, Prof. Gertrude Uscinska. Expenditure on benefits will amount to PLN 20.7 billion.
On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers issued implementing regulations on the amount and month of payment of the fourteenth pension. The first act stipulated that the benefit would amount to PLN 2,650 gross, while the second stipulated that payments would be made in September this year.
According to PAP, the president of ZUS prof. Gertruda Uścińska, another additional benefit in 2023 will be granted to persons who are entitled to an old-age, disability or other long-term benefit from ZUS on the last day of August.
“You will be able to receive only one fourteen, and in the case of a survivor’s pension, the amount of fourteen will be divided equally among all entitled persons. The fourteenth will not be granted to persons with the benefit suspended on the day of examining the right to the fourteenth, e.g. due to exceeding the limits of making extra money” – noted the head of the Institution.
The full amount of fourteen (gross) can be counted on by persons whose main benefit, e.g. old-age or disability pension, does not exceed PLN 2,900 gross. Above this amount, the fourteenth will be reduced in accordance with the “PLN for PLN” principle. However, in order to be entitled to an additional benefit, it must amount to at least PLN 50. This means that fourteen is due when the old-age or disability pension does not exceed PLN 5,500 gross.
“For example, if someone receives a pension of PLN 3,500 gross, the fourteenth pension will be PLN 2,050 gross” – explained Prof. Uścińska.
She informed that in the coming days ZUS would start paying the benefit. The fourteenth pension will be paid ex officio by ZUS and other pension authorities. This means that in order to receive another additional annual cash benefit, you do not need to apply for this benefit. It will be transferred in the same way as the pension you receive.
A health contribution of 9% will be deducted from the benefit. and personal income tax. Fourteen will be free of any other deductions, e.g. bailiff seizures. It will also not be included in income when applying for social assistance, alimony or 500 plus for the dependent.
It is estimated that another additional annual cash benefit will be received this year by approx. 8.8 million pensioners from all pension authorities. Of these, approx. 6.8 million people will receive the full fourteenth benefit, and in the case of approx. 2 million people, the benefit will be reduced in accordance with the “one zloty for one zloty” principle.
According to ZUS, expenditure on benefits will amount to PLN 20.7 billion. (PAP)
