We are one of the most effective in Europe in obtaining EU funds. Poland is a reliable partner for the European Commission, which emphasizes that the competition is won by the one who presents mature project proposals and implements planned projects on time, assessed Grzegorz Puda, Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, in “Gazeta Polska Daily”.

In an interview published in Wednesday’s GPC, the head of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy was, among others, when asked whether Poland is a European leader in applying for EU funds from the Connecting Europe Facility. “That’s right, Poland is an absolute leader in many respects – the lowest unemployment in the European Union, the best GDP results – these are the data of Eurostat, OECD” – stressed Grzegorz Puda.

In his opinion, we also “acquire and use EU funds” most effectively. “It’s about applying for EU funds to the Connecting Europe Facility centrally managed by the Directorate-General for Mobility of the European Commission. I have to admit that when the European Commission recently announced the results of the recruitment, I wanted to open the champagne, because we really achieved a considerable success” – he noted.

“We have received over PLN 4 billion in subsidies for investments. And indeed Germany, France and other countries got much smaller portions of this cake than Poland,” he pointed out.

“I believe that Poland is a reliable partner for the European Commission, which emphasizes that the competition is won by the one who presents mature project proposals and implements planned projects on time. We do it,” noted Grzegorz Puda.

In an interview with “GPC”, he also reminded that in the current financial perspective 2021-2027, Poland is the largest beneficiary of the cohesion policy. “In total, our country is entitled to EUR 76 billion, or about PLN 334 billion. After all, this is the result of the effective actions of Polish negotiators and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki personally,” he said.

“Poland is already receiving advance payments for the implementation of various programs – so far we have received PLN 8.4 billion. We have launched nearly 280 calls for proposals, three-quarters of which are in the regions, we are launching more all the time. And I will say more: I am convinced that the funds from KPO will also eventually flow to Poland,” added the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy. (PAP)
