Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about Vande Bharat train, long distance operation started

Mumbai: Regarding Kasaragod Trivandrum Vande Bharat, the government has set a target of launching 75 Vande Bharat trains in the first phase. With this, the total number of Vande Bharat trains running in the country has increased to 23. Vande Bharat trains are being well received by the passengers. According to the information, continuous work is being done by the Railways on the operation of Vande Bharat trains. Kasaragod-Trivandrum train has been the best performer so far among the Vande Bharat Express trains running across the country. On an average, 183 per cent passengers have traveled on this route. After which out of 23 Vande Bharat Express trains up and down across the country, Vande Bharat Express between Trivandrum and Kasaragod in Kerala has become the second best performing train with an average occupancy of 176 per cent. In this sequence, recently on June 27, PM Modi flagged off five Vande Bharat trains from Rani Kamlapati station of Bhopal.
Let us tell you that, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had expressed the hope of running on the tracks of Vande Bharat train with sleeper coaches by March 2024. On the other hand, Railways is also planning to start operation of the longest distance Vande Bharat train. During a program in Saharanpur last days, the Railway Minister had announced to run Vande Bharat train between Saharanpur to Prayagraj that Vande Bharat train will start operating between Prayagraj to Saharanpur soon. The train will travel a total distance of 769 km on this route. Earlier no Vande Bharat has covered such a long distance. Vande Bharat train covers the longest distance on Varanasi to New Delhi route of 757 kms.
