New Delhi (Best Hindu News): Reliance Industries is the most valuable company in the country with a value of Rs 16.3 lakh crore. It is followed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) with Rs 11.8 lakh crore and HDFC Bank with Rs 9.4 lakh crore at second and third place respectively. Axis Bank’s Burgundy Pvt and Hurun India on Tuesday released an update on the list of 500 most valuable private sector companies in India published in December 2022.
In absolute value terms, HDFC Bank, ITC and Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) gained the most in the six months between October 30, 2022 and April 30, 2023.
The four listed unicorns – Nykaa, Zomato, Paytm and Policybazaar – lost Rs 7,872 crore in value during the period under review.
Serum Institute of India, India’s most valuable unlisted company, declined 13 percent to Rs 1.92 lakh crore.
Jindal Stainless emerged as the top gainer in terms of percentage growth, registering an impressive 213 per cent growth, followed by Lloyds Metals & Energy with a growth of 93 per cent.
Financial services and healthcare were the biggest contributors to the updated 2022 Burgundy Private-Hurun India 500-Special Report with 72 and 60 companies, respectively. Nearly half of the companies on the list are from the financial services, healthcare, chemicals, consumer goods and software and services industries.
Burgundy Pvt and Hurun India list of top 500 companies in India were valued at Rs 227 lakh crore as on 30 October 2022, which declined by 6.4 per cent to Rs 212 lakh crore as on 30 April 2023.
287 companies declined in value while 14 companies remained unchanged during the period under review. At the same time, 24 companies dropped out of the list.
The total value of the top 10 companies remained stable at Rs 71.4 lakh crore ($874 billion), which is equivalent to 37 per cent of the country’s GDP and 34 per cent of the value of all companies on the list. Seven of these companies have their headquarters in Mumbai.
