Emsan, which survived the financial crisis by transferring to Karaca Group of Companies in 2008 and opened its first store in 2018, is taking firm steps towards its goals with 60-65 percent domestic and 30-35 percent international sales. The company, which has 230 employees (57 percent of whom are women) and indirectly employs 5-6 thousand people, made a turnover of approximately 100 million dollars in 2023. Stating that 600 point products are sold, Emsan General Manager Hakan Zihnioğlu said, “We sell 1 steel pot per minute. Cookware is our main product and most of the turnover comes from here. “Our target is 100 million euros in turnover this year,” he said.

Stating that one third of the sales are in e-commerce and the rest in stores and sales points, Zihnioğlu said: “There are 80 Emsan stores, 30 of which are our own and 50 of which are franchisees. Our goal is to open 150 Emsan stores across our country by mid-2025.” Zihnioğlu added that, as Emsan, they purchased Şişecam’s brand, İstanbul Porcelain, in 2022, and that the porcelain dinnerware, breakfast, tea and coffee sets of this brand are sold in Emsan stores.

Stating that Turkey is the 9th largest country in the kitchenware sector, Emsan General Manager Hakan Zihnioğlu pointed out that there is a foreign trade surplus of approximately 4 billion dollars. Zihnioğlu added that they export to 6 countries, especially Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
