Superbonus, 11 thousand companies have opened and closed on construction sites since 2020

There have been around 11 thousand so-called “open and close” businesses from 2020 to today. The data emerges from a report by infoCamere for Il Sole24Ore, based on data from the Business Register of the Chambers of Commerce. Since the birth of the Superbonus, in mid-2020, many companies have signed up to the platform to carry out their business, only to then change their minds and close their doors within months or so. As the economic newspaper specifies, the data only takes into account companies registered after September 2020. This date is not random since the rule, contained in the Relaunch decree, only came into full force in the summer of that year. To stem the phenomenon of “open and close” companies, the Draghi government issued decree number 21/2022: only holders of an SOA certification (qualifies the company to participate in public procurement in categories of works and classifications of amounts ed.) they can carry out works with amounts exceeding 516 thousand euros for which the Superbonus is valid. Simply put: a company without equipment, employees or other work performed in the past cannot access the incentive. The phenomenon of “open and close” businesses, however, is declining. After the Meloni government’s policies against the Superbonus, with the consequent cut to 90% at the end of 2022 and the second reduction to 70% at the end of 2023, many subjects have abandoned this practice. Already in the second and third quarters, according to data processed by Sole24Ore, companies of this type decreased by 1300 units. However, it is fair to specify that this phenomenon is not only caused by the law so dear to the 5 Star Movement, but is physiological in the Italian economy.
