The credit volume of the banking sector reached 11.6 trillion lira

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the sector’s credit volume increased by 31 billion 707 million lira as of January 5.
During the said period, total loan volume increased from 11 trillion 630 billion 252 million lira to 11 trillion 661 billion 959 million lira.
Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, decreased by 162 billion 821 million lira last week. Total deposits of the banking sector, which decreased by 1.1 percent, reached 14 trillion 680 billion 260 million lira.
THE AMOUNT OF CONSUMER LOANS INCREASED
The amount of consumer loans increased by 2 billion 509 million liras to 1 trillion 516 billion 260 million liras as of January 5. 437 billion 883 million lira of the loans in question consisted of housing loans, 95 billion 329 million lira of vehicle loans and 983 billion 48 million lira of consumer loans.
During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by 8 billion 744 million liras and reached 1 trillion 393 billion 482 million liras.
Banks’ individual credit card receivables increased by 1.6 percent to 1 trillion 173 billion 349 million liras. Of the individual credit card receivables, 510 billion 455 million liras were installment debts and 662 billion 894 million liras were non-installment debts.
LEGAL EQUITY INCREASED
As of January 5, non-performing receivables in the banking sector increased by 556 million lira compared to the previous week, reaching 191 billion 984 million lira. Special provisions were allocated for 154 billion 294 million liras of non-performing receivables.
In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by 354 million lira and reached 2 trillion 444 billion 632 million lira.
