Aegean tourism professionals, who reached 100 percent occupancy rates in tourist facilities during Ramadan Feast, increased their hopes for the new season that started early.

Aegean Touristic Enterprises and Accommodations Association (ETİK) President Mehmet İşler said that the 9-day Eid al-Fitr holiday is the right decision for the tourism industry.

Stating that it is estimated that approximately 20 million people traveled during the holiday and nearly 7 million of them stayed in the facilities, İşler stated that the tourism centers in the Aegean region also received their share of this activity.

Noting that the tourism season opened in Turkey a month ago with the Eid al-Fitr holiday, İşler said: “We have started the 60 million tourist target set for this season in Turkish tourism with 100 percent occupancy during the Eid al-Fitr. Turkey will reach the best figure of all time in 2024.” “There is an increase of approximately 25 percent in early bookings compared to last year.”

Çeşme Touristic Hoteliers Association (ÇEŞTOB) President Yakup Demir also stated that Çeşme “waked up from its winter sleep” with the Ramadan Feast holiday and the facilities reached full occupancy. Stating that sales continue with early reservations, Demir said, “We opened early reservations in January with the prices of the previous year. These sales continued during the holiday.” said.

91 THOUSAND 109 PEOPLE VISITED PAMUKKALE

Gazi Murat Şen, President of Denizli Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association, stated that Pamukkale was literally crowded during the holiday. Explaining that 91 thousand 109 people came to the ruins during the 9-day holiday period, Şen pointed out that the average daily arrivals increased from 2-3 thousand to 10 thousand. Stating that some guests had to return to Pamukkale without being able to enter due to the density, Şen said, “All our facilities, from the hotel to the hostel, were full. We are entering a period in which cultural destinations will come to the fore, apart from the sea, sand and sun. Denizli will increase its share in tourism in terms of number and quality from now on.” ” he said.

Tacettin Özden, President of Kuşadası Hoteliers Association, also stated that the weather temperatures supported the 9-day holiday and that the hotels open in the district started the season with full occupancy and said, “Our new season reservations are not bad either. If it continues like this, I think there will be a serious increase in the domestic market in the new season.” said.
