In other words, 50.1% of the total population was men and 49.9 percent were women.

According to the results of the Address Based Population Registration System (ADNKS), the foreign population residing in our country increased by 31 thousand 800 people compared to the previous year and reached 1 million 823 thousand 836 people. 49.5 percent of this population was men and 50.5 percent were women.

While the annual population growth rate was 12.7 per thousand in 2021, it became 7.1 per thousand in 2022.

The proportion of people living in provincial and district centers, which was 93.2% in 2021, increased to 93.4% in 2022. On the other hand, the rate of people living in towns and villages decreased from 6.8 percent to 6.6 percent.

ISTANBUL’S POPULATION IS INCREASING

The population of Istanbul increased by 67 thousand 51 people compared to the previous year and became 15 million 907 thousand 951 people. Istanbul, where 18.65 percent of Turkey’s population resides, Ankara with 5 million 782 thousand 285 people, İzmir with 4 million 462 thousand 56 people, and 3 million 194 thousand 720 people. Bursa and Antalya with 2 million 688 thousand 4 people.

Bayburt was the province with the least population with 84 thousand 241 people. Bayburt was followed by Tunceli with 84 thousand 366 people, Ardahan with 92 thousand 481 people, Gümüşhane with 144 thousand 544 people and Kilis with 147 thousand 919 people.

On the other hand, it was observed that the proportion of married people, who constitute the majority, was close to each other in both genders in 2009 and 2022.

THE NUMBER OF POPULATION OF WORKING AGE INCREASED

While the proportion of the population in the 15-64 age group, defined as the working age, was 66.5 percent in 2007, it became 68.1 percent in 2022. On the other hand, the proportion of the population aged 0-14, defined as the child age group, decreased from 26.4 percent to 22 percent, while the proportion of the population aged 65 and over rose from 7.1 percent to 9.9 percent.

The total age dependency ratio, which shows the number of children and elderly individuals per working-age person, decreased from 47.4 percent in 2021 to 46.8 percent in 2022.

While the child dependency ratio, which expresses the number of children per working-age individual, decreased from 33 percent to 32.3 percent, the elderly dependency ratio, which measures the number of elderly individuals per working-age individual, decreased from 14.3% to 14.5%. e rose. In other words, every 100 people of working age are taking care of 32.3 children and 14.5 elderly people in Turkey in 2022.

3 thousand 62 people fall per square kilometer in Istanbul

The “number of people per square kilometer”, defined as population density, increased by 1 person compared to 2021 in Turkey and rose to 111 people.
