UPI in Srilanka & Mauritius: India’s Unified Payment Interface services were launched in Sri Lanka and Mauritius from today. In this online program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi), Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth also participated. The launch of Indian services in Sri Lanka and Mauritius comes against the backdrop of India’s growing bilateral economic ties with both the countries. With this, UPI service will be available to Indian citizens traveling to Sri Lanka and Mauritius as well as citizens of these countries traveling to India. Let us tell you that already UPI payment is being used in France, Singapore, UAE, Nepal and Bhutan.

Digital transactions will be fast and seamless
The Indian High Commission said in a statement on Sunday that the launch of UPI services will facilitate Indian citizens traveling to Sri Lanka and Mauritius as well as citizens of these countries traveling to India. The statement said that India has emerged as a leader in fintech innovation and digital public infrastructure. The Prime Minister has emphasized on sharing our development experiences and innovation with partner countries. According to the statement, considering India’s strong cultural and mutual relations with Sri Lanka and Mauritius, the launch of UPI services will enable digital transactions at a faster and seamless pace. This will benefit the people of both the countries and mutual digital connectivity will increase. The expansion of RuPayCard services in Mauritius will enable banks there to facilitate the use of RuPayCard for settlements in both India and Mauritius.

It supports various Indian languages, making personal and business transactions much easier.
