An announcement to make electricity 10 rupees 80 paisa cheaper per unit for the people of Karachi

It has been announced that electricity will be cheaper by Rs 10 to 80 paisa per unit for K Electric customers.

The hearing of December fuel charges adjustment of K Electric in Nepra was presided over by Chairman Nepra Tauseef H. Farooqui.

Nepra says that relief has been given to electricity consumers under the December adjustment.

K Electric had requested to reduce the cost of electricity by Rs 10 to 26 paise per unit.

Briefing the Nepra authority, it was said that K Electric’s furnace oil consumption remained low in December and LNG prices were also low.

According to K Electric’s application, consumers of Karachi will get relief of more than 12 billion rupees.

CFO K Electric says that K Electric is working on solar and wind power projects.

Apart from this, Chairman Nepra said that for the purpose of adjustment in other parts of the country, electricity will be cheaper by 2 rupees 31 paisa per unit, consumers of discos will get relief of 18 billion rupees.

Chairman Nepra Tauseef H. Farooqui remarked that only power plants are being installed, NTDC does not have the facility to take electricity from these plants, NTDC does not have transmission line.

Taseef H. Farooqui said that the plants have been installed with the blood and sweat of the people, the consumers are looking towards Nepra.

He said that Nepra has called all the partners of the power sector today at 2 pm, the Nepra authority will hear all the relevant partners today, after the opinions of the partners, the nature of the inquiry will be decided.

Chairman NEPRA says that the NEPRA authority will decide whether an independent inquiry should be conducted or a joint one, the federal government is already conducting an inquiry on power breakdown.

Taseef H. Farooqui also said that inquiries are being made at various levels on the issue of power breakdown, sent an advisory to the government not to make appointments on ad-hoc basis in institutions for 6 months.

Nepra says that in the context of December’s fuel price adjustment, electricity will be cheaper by 2 rupees 32 paise per unit, consumers of discos will get relief of 18 billion rupees, consumers will get relief in February bills, final decision later. will be released.
