Reforms regarding working life will be on the agenda in the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the coming period.

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan recently announced the latest situation regarding premium support for housewives.

Işıkhan said, “We have started our work on providing one-third premium support to housewives. Within the scope of optional insurance, we are establishing a system in which one-third of the obliged premium will be paid by the state. This is our President’s promise and we will fulfill it. I would especially like to emphasize that there will be absolutely no deviation in this.” ” he said.

Stating that the number of premium payment days of Bağ-Kurs will be reduced, Işıkhan continued as follows:

“We have to ensure the sustainability of our social security system. We provide this with premium income. This is our most important income. We have no other income. We are trying to keep our citizens in working life. Our work continues to reduce the number of premium payment days of Bağ-Kurs from 9000 days to 7200 days “This is a promise made before the election. We will definitely fulfill it. We will take these steps in line with budget discipline.”

IT WILL BE ADDED TO THE OVERALL LAW

According to the news of Sabah, which is known for its closeness to the government, the regulations that concern millions of citizens will be made with an omnibus law.

The number of Bağ-Kur premium days will be reduced from 9000 days to 7200 days and will be equalized with SSK.

Within the framework of the Family Protection Package, a system will be implemented to provide social security to housewives who cannot find the opportunity to work or who do not have enough premiums for retirement.

In this system, the state will cover part of women’s premium payments.

At the end of the premium payments, housewives will have the right to retirement as well as social security.

The state will cover one-third of the optional premium payments to be paid by housewives. The amount and calculation to be paid for this year will be as follows:

Monthly payment (2024): 6.400,64 TL

State support monthly: 2,133.55 TL

Annual state support: 25,602.56 TL

HOW TO RETIRE?

Housewives whose premiums are paid will have the right to retire when the conditions are met. Here, within the scope of Bağ-Kur, 5400 days will be sufficient. However, women who have worked before and have earned premiums will retire more easily. For women, especially mothers, there will also be support for the number of premium days such as wear and tear and age discounts.

A practice similar to attrition (Actual Service Increase) will be implemented for housewives and mothers who will be provided with social security.

Mothers and housewives will earn additional bonus days every year depending on the number of premiums they pay.

For example, a mother who pays premiums for 4 years will be as if she has paid premiums for 5 years.

A portion equal to the premium support period provided will also be deducted from the retirement age requirement. Thus, mothers will be able to retire at a younger age by paying less premium.

BAĞKUR PERSON WILL BE ABLE TO RETIRE WITH 7200 DAYS BONUS

Before September 8, 1999, Bağ-Kur retirement conditions were 7200 days for women and 9000 days for men.

In the following period, it started to be implemented as 9 thousand days for both women and men.

With the regulation to be introduced, the number of premium payment days, which is 9 thousand days, will be reduced by 1800 days (5 years) to 7200.

Thus, it will be equalized with the 7200 days requirement for SSK members after 2008.

The regulation will initially apply to small tradesmen registered in tradesmen chambers, who are taxed in a simple manner.

Thus, the retirement premium requirement for small tradesmen and craftsmen such as hairdressers, tailors, grocery stores and barbers will be 7200 days.

Expanding this scope is also on the agenda during the legal regulation. If this happens, all Bağ-Kur residents will benefit.

PENSION REFORM WILL ALSO AFFECT EYT MEMBERS

When the regulation comes into effect, approximately 1 million small tradesmen who have met the age requirement but have not yet completed 9 thousand days of premium will retire immediately if they have 7200 days left.

Likewise, small tradesmen within the scope of EYT will have the right to retire if they have completed 7200 days, regardless of age.

Here, tradesmen will have the right to retire 5 years early.

Thus, you will not have to pay premiums for another 5 years. They will be able to get a salary immediately while saving time and getting rid of excess costs.
