The number of employed people increased by 880 thousand people in 2023 compared to the previous year, reaching 31 million 632 thousand people, and the employment rate increased by 0.8 points to 48.3 percent. This rate was 65.7 percent for men and 31.3 percent for women.
The workforce increased by 562 thousand people in 2023 compared to the previous year, reaching 34 million 896 thousand people, and the labor force participation rate increased by 0.2 points to 53.3 percent. The labor force participation rate was 71.2 percent for men and 35.8 percent for women.
UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN YOUTH POPULATION WAS 17.4 PERCENT
The unemployment rate in the young population, covering the 15-24 age group, decreased by 2.0 points compared to the previous year and reached 17.4 percent in 2023. Unemployment rate in this age group; It was estimated as 14.3 percent for men and 23.2 percent for women.
