Calviño trusts to continue at the forefront of economic policy after the elections

The First Vice President of the Government and Minister of Economy, Nadia Calviño, has assured this Saturday that her commitment to Pedro Sánchez is “firm and clear” despite not being on the lists and has trusted continue to maintain its leadership in the field of Spanish economic policy after the elections.

Calviño, who has attended to journalists in Madrid before visiting the Book Fair, has defended his decision to continue as an independent and not go on the lists and has been asked about her role in this electoral campaign.

“I am the first vice president of the Government, I have directed the economic policy of the Government since 2018, an economic policy that works, that has positive results; I am committed to the president, Pedro Sánchez, and to the project led by the PSOE and I will continue to have that role and that important role in the field of economic policy in our country, up to the elections and hopefully later too of course“, has pointed out, according to efe.

Calviño has shown a seamless adhesion to Sánchez, whom he has described as “the president our country needs, a recognized, respected and loved leader inside and outside our borders” and “an honest person who defends the general interest”.

Supported by figures for economic growth, job creation, affiliation to Social Security and policies such as the increase in the minimum interprofessional wage and pensions, she has also shown herself convinced that the Spanish will “massively” support the socialist project.
