Coplaca revalidates its trust in Grupo Armas Trasmediterráne

In the opinion of Francisco Javier González-Palenzuela Gallego, general director of Coplaca, “with the renewal of this agreement we have especially valued the operational capacity, regularity and punctuality of the Armas Trasmediterránea service on the line between the Canary Islands and the port of Cádiz, as a preferred distribution node for the Peninsula, other markets in Europe and Morocco.

Thanks to our experience we can ensure working with the times and conditions required by Coplaca’s demands.

‘Tinamar Volcano’ is incorporated

The Armas Trasmediterránea Group’s maritime service on this route has the best service and greatest capacity for the transportation of this type of products. A service guaranteed with the rotations of the ships ‘Villa de Tazacorte’ – the largest RO-LON of the Spanish Merchant Navy –, ‘Ciudad de Valencia’ and, starting next April 19, with the incorporation of the ‘Volcán de Tinamar’ ferry, which provides a capacity of 1,650 linear meters of rolled cargo, one hundred refrigeration connections. 1,500 passengers and a speed of 26 knots.

Armas Trasmediterránea thus manages almost 100% of the banana and fruit traffic from the Canary Islands between Tenerife, La Palma and the peninsula, transporting more than 6,000 Coplaca refrigerated units per year. A long-term agreement that began thirty years ago and that has meant an alliance between the two companies to ensure the export of these productions.

The great transport capacity of refrigerated units, the logistics of land transport and the unification policy of the Canary Islands-Cádiz line with three vessels that rotate every week, has been another of the factors that Coplaca has valued in the signing of the agreement with the Trasmediterránea Weapons Group.

Coplaca is the leading group of agri-food cooperatives in the Canary Islands, whose activity is the packaging and marketing of bananas and other fruits (avocados, papayas), vegetables and nuts produced on the islands of La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
