While briefing Nepra in the hearing, it was said that electricity distribution companies have demanded Rs 84 billion for the second quarter, whatever decision is made will be applicable to K Electric as well.

Member NEPRA Sindh Rafiq Ahmed Sheikh said that what is happening, an increase of 84 to 85 billion rupees has been requested, the head of CPPA is not present, no one from the power division is also present in the hearing, loadshedding is being done by factions. , is there anyone looking at the power sector.

The Nepra authority said that they cannot burden the consumers without looking, why there is an increase where there is no industry, the capacity payment is increasing, the power of the people has responded, load shedding continues even where the losses are less, the DISCOs They have written letters on the pending connections, they are crying about lack of cells, 1 lakh 70 thousand connections are pending, the cells will increase only if the discos give the connections, if they give the pending connections, then 1100 MW cells can increase, the connections are not given. However, the burden is being put on the already stranded consumers, many discos do not have electricity for the whole year and are receiving capacity payment.

The responses of the electricity companies on the issue of overbilling were termed unsatisfactory.

Nepra said that they will issue show cause notices to the power companies in the next few days and will resolve the matter within a month.
