Furniture maker will expand abroad with training

Aiming to increase the capital’s exports and the number of exporters, ATO will deliver the products of the furniture makers in Siteler to the world. With the “Improving the Internationalization Abilities of Micro SMEs in the Furniture Industry” Project, abbreviated as “INT4FURN”, ATO will enable micro-SMEs, SMEs and entrepreneur ATO members operating in the furniture industry, who have not exported before, to be able to export and to open up to foreign markets. Gürsel Baran, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ATO, stated that the furniture industry is an important sector with the number of workplaces and the employment it provides, and said, “The furniture industry, which increases its production volume, is also making progress in exports. We do not want this development to be limited to large and brand businesses. “We aim to open up even the smallest businesses located in Siteler, the heart of furniture in Ankara, to the world market,” he said.

The program, which was implemented under the coordination of Gazi University within the scope of Erasmus+ Program Cooperation Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training with the support of the European Union (EU) of Ankara Chamber of Commerce, and the partnership of Ankara Chamber of Commerce and Gazi University from Turkey, as well as Spain, Portugal, Greece, the Netherlands. and will be carried out in cooperation with 7 organizations operating in Estonia.

The Project, which was developed in line with the furniture industry’s production volume target of 10 billion euros and will continue until the end of 2024, will be prepared in accordance with the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training. In the project, where SMEs in the furniture industry will be able to learn the basic information before exporting with the online training program, the companies will be prepared to export before they go to the field.
