Garamendi suggests that workers collect the entire payroll and then pay Social Security contributions

The president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), Antonio Garamendi, believes that workers should receive their full monthly payroll and be the ones who submit their contributions to Social Security.

“It is the way in which we would really see how much the real cost of salaries is in Spain,” said Garamendi in statements to the press, reported by EPduring his attendance at the IV CEOE Trade Meeting.

The business leader has explained thatand I would try to ensure that all the money from their payroll reaches the worker and be he –as happens in Income Tax-, who declares before Social Security and before the Treasury.

Ayuso criticizes improvised taxes

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, also participated in the meeting, rejecting the “improvised taxes on a whim” and pointing out Catalonia, which with 15 taxes of its own, is “skimming the middle class, merchants and the self-employed” by “simple political will.”

Furthermore, the Madrid leader has shown its rejection “of interference in business decisions, obstacles to the self-employed and especially to family businessesto the high hiring costs that are weighing down the Spanish company and also to the blackout of the shop windows that reduce the consumer spirit and darken the streets.
