New management at Languiru wants to professionalize management

Headed by rural producer Paulo Roberto Birck, a member since 2013, the group should be acclaimed to lead the cooperative in a buffer mandate, until March 2024. During this period, the idea is to hire professionals with experience in the market and give autonomy to the teams to work with scientific basis, for the construction of a more professional administration.
“The board would have a strategic role, but the teams that work with each sector would be made up of people with the profile and technical capacity to occupy these posts”, explains Fábio Luiz Secchi, candidate for vice president on the ticket and former member of Languiru’s internal committees under the previous administration.
The group has already been talking to the cooperative’s internal teams, gathering information about the current scenario. A company should be hired to prepare a detailed report on the accounting situation, which will serve as a guide for defining the strategies and measures to be adopted from the beginning of the new management.
The group’s speech is to strengthen the spirit of unity among the cooperative members to work together with a focus on restructuring the cooperative. “It is a fact that we are going through a context of difficulties for the meat and animal protein segments, aggravated by the skyrocketing prices of the main commodities. But Languiru made, in the last two years, some bets that did not consolidate. And that generated an important impact for us to get to the point where we are today”, observes Secchi.
Sought after by Jornal do Comércio, Birck warned that he would speak only after the meeting. To Grupo A Hora, which operates on a multiplatform communication platform in Vale do Taquari, however, he projected that the initial movement of his administration will be to know the fiscal numbers and that the meetings held throughout this week with technicians aim to anticipate movements, especially due to the difficulties in supplying feed within the integration system of the poultry and pork segments. And that the dairy basin agreement with Lactalis, signed at the end of March, is also under analysis. “That will be in a second moment. Let’s get to know the contract and try to talk. We cannot make a hasty decision”, he told A Hora.
