More than 70,000 business advisors from all over Spain are called to mobilize this Thursday to publicly denounce the work overload they have suffered for four years due to the “botched” implementation of electronic administration, that subjects them to an incessant back-and-forth of proceduresrectifications, computer errors and threats of sanctions who does not understand weekends, holidays, vacations or the minimum right to digital disconnection.

The ‘Asesores Unidos’ platform, which has organized this protest on social networks outside of professional associations and business or union organizations, has chosen the date of March 14 as it coincides with the fourth anniversary of the declaration of the first State of alarm due to the pandemic, starting point of a “bureaucratic nightmare“which still persists today.

They seek to give visibility to the problems suffered by a varied group of administrative managers, tax advisors, accountants, lawyers and social graduates who have in common the consideration of “collaborators” with the administrations through telematic means. This means that they can manage telematic procedures on behalf of their clients, mostly SMEs and the self-employed. with Social Securitythe Tax Agency or the State Public Employment Service (SEPE).

But with the outbreak of the pandemic, this scenario is blown up. The avalanche of measures approved by the Executive to protect employment and companies, forces countless remote procedures to be carried out that overwhelmed the administrations themselves and their officials. The real problem comes when they see that the pandemic and the extraordinary measures begin to subside; however, their workload remains. The tax and labor measures approved starting in 2021, from the creation of new taxes on companies to labor and pension reforms, together with their legislative developments, have placed these advisors in a scenario in which they consider that they “work more for the administrations than for their own clients”.

“We are not civil servants” is the motto chosen for this protest, unprecedented both for being the first to be carried out by the entire group –A year ago, social graduates already faced Social Security for this reasonalthough with little success– as for the way in which it is presented.

Fear of retaliation
