The IMV reaches 42,736 beneficiaries in Aragon

The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached a total of 42,736 Aragonese and 13,857 households have benefited of this aid, according to sources from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration. Among the beneficiaries, 30,392 correspond to the province of Zaragoza, 6,946 to Huesca, while 5,398 reside in Teruel. The average amount of the benefit was 512.83 euros, compared to the 500 average for the national group.

It is the first time that the central Executive, chaired by Pedro Sánchez, provides this data, a still photo of the number of current beneficiaries of this benefit. Until now, only the data accumulated over time was provided, which amounts to 2.2 million beneficiaries in 770,000 households, 4.6% of the population in Spain.

Therefore, with these figures, it can be deduced that a total of 5,435 households and 15,905 people have received this benefit at some point, since its launch in June 2020, and no longer receive it.

Among the Aragonese holders of the IMV, the majority are women –8,199 compared to 5,658 men–, although in the province of Teruel the latter predominate, and Spanish nationality.

By age groups, the most numerous is those between 36 and 45 years old -4,625 cases–, followed by people between 46 and 55 -4,313 cases–, who are the predominant ones in the province of Zaragoza. The average age is 45.67 years, slightly higher than the national average, which is 45.09 years.

As for the beneficiaries, 23,965 are adults and 18,771 are minors. In this case, women also predominate – 22,812 compared to 19,915 -.

The average age of the beneficiaries, except the owner, is 18.49 years, more than a year lower than that of the country as a whole – 19.60 years -. The average for the province of Teruel stands out, at 17.72 years, which is the third lowest in the country, only above Soria and Guadalajara.

Regarding the type of households that receive the IMV, those composed of two adults and more than two minors stand out first – 2,052 cases – although in the provinces of Huesca and Zaragoza, as well as in the whole of In Spain, families made up of two adults and two minors appear in first place.

National data

At the national level, a total of 610,079 people and 216,249 households who at some point have collected the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) no longer collect it, this is almost a third of the total beneficiaries accumulated since the launch of this new benefit in June 2020. Sources from the ministry qualify These losses are positive because they understand that the recipient of the aid has found a job.

Regarding the profile of the February beneficiary, the person is on average 28 years old, 66.1% are families with children and 26.7% of them are single parents.

Regarding the number of beneficiaries in February (1,669,361), 980,602 have been adults and 688,794 minors. Regarding their sex, 892,803 have been women and 776,392 have been men. The gross amount of the payroll was 346,405,008.67 euros.

Of the 557,405 households that the IMV reached in February, there are 376,330 benefits with the Childhood Aid Complement (API). Likewise, in 371,078 of the cases the holder of the benefit has been a woman and in 186,327 they have been men. Furthermore, the average amount per household has been 500.04 euros.

Profiles

Regarding the profile of the data accumulated since June 2020, when it began to be launched, the IMV has reached more than 2.2 million people and more than 770,000 homes, which represents 4.6% of the population. In this cumulative data, the average age of beneficiaries is also 28 years old, 68% are families with children and 23% are single parents. The accumulated gross amount of payrolls is 9,650,713,577.96 euros.

According to department sources, in 2024 data will be provided monthly with an expansion of the IMV statistics. These will collect the main data according to the autonomous community and the province, among which are the number of benefits, the number of beneficiaries, the gross amount per payroll, the average monthly amount per household and per beneficiary.

In the document, according to ministry sources, the data will be broken down into three blocks: the first, with the details of the payroll by Autonomous Community and province; the second, in relation to the payroll of the previous month and the same month of the previous year; and the third, with information on accumulated benefits.

According to sources from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, the objective of this expansion of data is to enter a stage of greater transparency. For this reason, it has also prepared the report ‘Analysis of the coverage gap in the implementation of the Minimum Living Income (IMV)’, which was made public this Thursday. It is financed by the European Union and includes all the measures that have been carried out so far.

Likewise, they assure that a new inclusion policy laboratory is being promoted, where 32 itineraries have been evaluated, which has had 80,000 participants.

By communities, the one with the highest number of beneficiaries has registered, both in the month of February 2024 and accumulated since June 2020, has been Andalusia, followed by the Valencian Community, Catalonia, Madrid, Murcia, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Galicia, Canary Islands, Extremadura, Basque Country, Aragon, Asturias, Balearic Islands, Navarra, Cantabria, La Rioja, Melilla and Ceuta. In these regions, this number of casualties have been registered in order: 186,144, 74,762, 55,341, 67,632, 23,891, 28,471, 25,660, 29,329, 25,758, 19,932, 11,341, 15,905, 13,138, 7,687 , 4,998, 6,399, 4,309, 4,682 and 4,690 .
