The Labor and Social Security Inspection has sent a report to the State Attorney General’s Office in which it assures that Glovo’s commercial companies could have committed crimes against workers’ rights, Labor sources inform Europa Press.

As reported by ‘El País’ this Wednesday, the report details hundreds of specific cases of people who in their opinion should be salaried employees but who operate as self-employed workers and the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Barcelona is studying the matter.

According to the inspection actions, Glovo could violate the Penal Code for not meeting the requirements that have been made to recognize its delivery workers as employed workers.

Company sources have assured Europa Press that they have not “received any information or notification in this regard”, which is why they have said that they are not aware of this issue and that they will study the content of the communication if it occurs.

“We reiterate our complete willingness to maintain an open and constructive dialogue with the administrations and agents of our country,” they concluded.
