The court suspended the SSGC notification on the increase in gas prices, the court said in its order that the suspension of the notification related to the gas prices will apply only to the petitioners, the textile industries have submitted the additional bills to the Sindh High Court. do it
In the court order, it is said that the injunction is for those industries who will deposit the additional amount with the Superintendent of Sindh High Court within 7 days and if the additional amount of 2 gas bills is not deposited with the Superintendent of Sindh High Court, then the injunction will expire. Until the applications are decided, the additional amount of the bills will be deposited with the Sindh High Court.
The order further said that the industries should continue to pay the petitioner regular bills as per the tariff before the increase in gas price.
The court has issued a notice to the SSGC and the federal government and sought their response.
The petitioners are of the view that the SSGC has increased the natural gas prices for the textile industry on November 8, 2023. The caretaker government has no power to increase the gas prices.
