Thousands of butchers migrated to Istanbul from different cities of Anatolia to work in 289 official sacrificial slaughtering places in different districts. An important part of the butchers will work in slaughtering areas rented by foundations and various institutions. As in previous years, butchers will still charge percentage and per piece. In Istanbul, service is provided at 289 sacrificial sales points and 16 slaughterhouses. While the producers, who had been on the way to the mega city with their cattle and small cattle weeks ago, were happy to sell 90 percent of what they had, now it’s the butchers’ turn.

The butchers, who work in approximately 289 facilities in Istanbul, the center of the sacrifice market, get their 3-month income in 3 days. Butchers, who share their monthly income that they earn in a single day during the feast, reach approximately 10 thousand liras per day. The work of the professionals, who will return to their shops in the neighborhood after the holiday, will continue with the mincing process.

The butchers, who made the slaughter of cattle for 1,000 liras and 1,500 liras last year, want at least 2,500 liras for cattle slaughter this year. For small cattle, the slaughter fee, which was 200 lira last year, starts from 400 lira this year. It is stated that a butcher can cut 50 pieces a day with his team.

Experts warn that citizens should make the sacrifice from competent places. Emphasizing that citizens should be careful when buying victims and not to buy from places under the stairs, experts said, “The cut should be made from the competent places. A line should not be sacrificed to the person who receives a sacrifice”.
