The General Directorate of Community Agrarian Policy of the Board has received more than 563,000 euros of agro-environmental aid to the beekeeping sector in Extremadura.
This line of the CAP’s single request is intended to support professional beekeeping activity to benefit the conservation of plant biodiversity and corresponds to the 2023 campaign.
This is an annual aid aimed at those who comply with the commitments established during a period of five years, starting in 2019, with the fundamental objective of maintaining an adequate level of activity in beekeeping in the region with “very beneficial and irreplaceable” repercussions. on the conservation of the region’s biodiversity.
This line contributes to maintaining an adequate level of activity in transhumant beekeeping, as it is an activity that favors the conservation of wild flora, especially the herbaceous and shrubby stratum, key elements of the landscape, maintaining populations in municipalities and areas of delicate stability, attention and care of the forest.
