Extremadura’s GDP grew by 3.1% in the fourth quarter of 2023

The Autonomous Community of Extremadura registered a interannual variation in global activity of 3.1% in real terms in the fourth quarter of 2023, above the national average, which was 2 percent.
This figure represents a increase of 9 tenths with respect to the rate of the previous quarterwhich was 2.2% and 3.1% more than in the same period of the previous year, in which it remained at 0.0%, according to the Institute of Statistics of Extremadura (IEEx).
In the last quarter of 2023 all sectors recorded positive annual variation rates, led by Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry and Fishing with 17.7%; followed by Industry, with 5.2%; Services, with 2.1%; and Construction a 0.3.
In relation to the previous quarter, the regional GDP registered a variation of 0.9%. By sectors, those that registered positive quarter-on-quarter rates were Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry and Fishing (2.9%), Industry (1.5%) and Services (0.9%); while Construction fell eight tenths.
The variation in Spanish GDP compared to the previous quarter, in terms of volume, was 0.6% in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
