Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb says that he is joining the IMF’s major program and will continue with microeconomic stability.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Pakistan Stock Exchange, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that he is grateful for the warm welcome and will meet the IMF officials soon in Washington.

He says that the growth of agriculture sector was 5%, rice crop was bumper, wheat is also good news, current account account is better, exchange rate is also stable, inflation rate has come down.

“All the achievements are the SBA agreement of Shahbaz Sharif’s previous era”

Mohammad Aurangzeb said that all these achievements are the SBA agreement of Shahbaz Sharif’s previous period, there will be talks with the IMF on April 14 and 15, the caretaker government has done better things to restore the economy.

He said that thanks to better economic policies, the economy will stabilize soon, the caretaker set-up, led by Dr. Shamshad, will go to the meeting of the World Bank and the IMF on April 14 and 15.

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb says that he will discuss the features of the new program, detailed negotiations will be held in Pakistan, we know what and why to do.

He said that good progress has been made on privatization of PIA and outsourcing of airports, government’s job is to provide policy framework, lead private sector.

He has said that the economy has got off to a good start in 2024 with improvement in key economic indicators, working with the Ministry of Law and FBR to remove tax leakage.

The Federal Finance Minister further said that while working to bring more people into the tax net, the capital market will focus on increasing transparency and investor protection.

Mohammad Aurangzeb also said that the finance ministry will work with the capital market to facilitate access to capital for small and medium enterprises.

The Finance Minister started the business by playing the traditional bell gong

Earlier, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb opened the business by ringing the traditional bell gong at the gong ceremony of the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

In the event, the Chinese director of PSX Yu Heng presented the welcome speech and said that the arrival of Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in PSX shows his interest.

He says that the index reaching a new high level is an expression of investors’ confidence in the current government, the current government is continuing to implement reforms.
